Peace

Yesterday we had another appointment. I love our appointments because we get to be reassured that our baby girl is growing strong. And boy is she growing! Well, at least one of us is...I will be 26 weeks along on Friday and have gained 17 pounds. I feel wonderful though. And the appointment was great. I had my stomach measured and everything is perfectly on track. And I had a glucose and iron test through some bloodwork and all of that must have been perfect too because it is "no news is good news" and I heard nothing. The glucose drink really wasn't bad at all. And our doctor starting talking to us about classes and birthing methods. I can't wait to research and research all of this. I will let you all know how it's going.

Last night after the appointment we came home and built our crib! I will share more pictures once the room is not complete chaos. We are having so much fun preparing for this little girl's arrival. Next weekend we are going shopping to buy the crib sheets and curtains for her room!

This is what 25.5 weeks looks like if you plaster a big peace sign on your belly. Something has to jazz up my workout, so it might as well be cute tank tops!

Almost 25 Weeks!

I am just a couple of days away from being 25 weeks along! We can't believe that time is flying by like this. We are getting so excited about our little girl. I feel her move all the time now; I think she's a gymnast. And David has felt her a few different times.

Some things that I am loving about this time are my Heath addiction (I can't get enough vanilla ice cream and Heath pieces), the way David completely pampers me and tells me how beautiful I look (lemme tell ya single ladies, hold out for a perfect man like my husband!), and our morning walks. Each morning I think about how pretty soon our morning walks won't be just David, Bo, and me...this makes me extremely excited and a little sad at times. I'm trying to cherish each and every moment of this pregnancy, not just because of what a beautiful blessing this is, but because each moment might be the last of that same moment that it's just me and David. I want to soak it in.

I think I've gained about 18 pounds, but I don't really know. I have a doctor's appointment next week. I haven't been nauseous at all (if you don't count the Nashville weekend). I've been sleeping not so great, but it's okay because usually when I am laying there awake and uncomfortable I get to move her move around. And I have been eating great! I can eat all the fruits and vegetables I want, and I cannot stop eating ice cream or yogurt. She must have really strong bones.

This weekend my friend showed me this completely adorable site to order bows from! You mix and match the headbands and flowery bows. Too cute! So you know we had to buy a few....

And our very favorite combinations.....

Go Chiefs! Go Griffons! Go Mizzou!!!

"It Won't Be Like This For Long"

The last few mornings here in the beautiful Midwest have really felt like Fall. This is a huge blessing considering it has been 100+ every day for the past month. David and I have been wearing pants and jackets on our morning walks. Yesterday at 5:45 am it was only 50 degrees! If you haven't known me long, you might not know my obsession with Fall. I absolutely love it! I have been on cloud nine, spending every minute possible outside and daydreaming about my Starbucks (decaf) pumpkin spiced latte!

This morning I woke up to the sunshine and threw open every window. I was preparing my banana bread with peanut butter for breakfast when I stumbled across one of my very favorite Fall recipes. This recipe brings back so many memories. Funny how food can do that, isn't it?

Happy Fall musings to all of you!

I Just Love the Blogging Community

If I haven't told you all lately, I really love this blogging community. I never knew I would feel such a connection to people all over through this. Well One of my very fave bloggers and friend asked me to write a guest post on her blog! I had a blast writing this. Check out Dine and Dish to read my review of a fun Nashville restaurant. And if you aren't following her yet, now is a great time! http://dineanddishchicago.blogspot.com/2012/08/mambu-nashville.html?m=1

Nashville Girls' Trip!

Days go by
I can feel 'em flying
Like a hand out the window in the wind as the cars go by
It's all we've been given
So you better start livin' right now
'Cause days go by

This past weekend I spent a few days in Nashville celebrating my sister's upcoming wedding. This is a topic that I can barely talk about (even before I was pregnant) without tearing up or full out crying. It makes me so happy to see her so happy with the man she loves and planning the details of her perfect wedding. The other topic I can't talk about is her and her amazing friends! You wouldn't believe these friends. They are just too good to be true. Sister #2 has ten bridesmaids...Ten! And all of them (besides us sisters) are friends from elementary school or middle school. They are just completely amazing. So we spent this weekend celebrating - her upcoming wedding and our friendships.

Here are just a few pictures of me and the baby bump celebrating in Nashville. We can't wait to go back!

My drink of choice...my instructions to each waiter were something pretty in a pretty glass with no alcohol

Baby Girl Richmond

I've been spending time daydreaming about what our precious little girl will look like.

So I went over to David's mom's yesterday and picked up a huge box of pictures. And not just any pictures. Precious baby pictures of my adorable husband! I have spent hours looking through these pictures and daydreaming about kissing this sweet little face on a baby girl. I hope my daughter looks just like these sweet pictures...well maybe a bit more feminine. But look at this face!

Decked out in his Chiefs gear from day one!

Tile. Check!

Remember those crazy pictures of our kitchen floor...a.k.a. three layers of laminate ranging from 1970 on?

Well after many, many hours of hard work from our boys, our kitchen floor is completed and beautiful. I love it.

We are knocking out these projects in preparation of Baby Girl Richmond. This weekend we are going to Babies R Us to buy some staples and start the set up of her room!

If you are from my area, or if you are ever anywhere near my northwest corner of Missouri, you have to check out the cutest decorating store we have! Mary Carol is from the area and she followed her dreams and opened a decorating store. She is so wonderful and last year, she was our speaker at Women of Excellence for the YWCA. I love her store, her style, and her bubbly personality.  My mother in law sent me one of her recent newsletters, and check out a nursery she just did! Our nursery walls are light green (remember when I painted last Spring?) and we have been thinking about incorporating grey and purple and maybe some pinks. After seeing these pictures, I'm even more excited to check out this look for BGR (Yep, from here on out BGR is little Baby Girl Richmond). I love Nell Hill's! Check it out for yourself (http://nellhills.com/) ...especially around Fall. I'm obsessed.
